What is Reiki?
Reiki (ray-key) was founded by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 20th century in Japan and evolved as a result of his research, experience and dedication. It is a natural healing system that uses variable frequency energy to heal. The energy is electromagnetic and can work on any level – physical, emotional and spiritual. This method is re-balancing your energy, healing and harmonising body, mind, spirit and it encourages personal and spiritual awareness and growth. It also creates harmony in your life and the person experience a sense of wellbeing.
The word Reiki is composed of two Japanese words – Rei and Ki.
Rei – means spiritual or sacred. It described as universal or spiritual energy, the highest spiritual consciousness.
Ki – means energy. Life force energy, inside all living things, surrounds all living things, lower frequency than Rei energy. Ki as believed in many Eastern traditions needs to flow freely throughout the body. If we have an emotional trauma or a physical illness we acquire a blockage. This disturbs the path of the energy through our bodies and we develop an illness. The healthier someone is the more Ki they will have flowing through their body.

What we offer is both very simple and immensely powerful at the same time. One to one sessions where you come to me are typically 90 minutes long and consist of an initial discussion about you and some explanation about the process.
The second phase of the session is to use healing to reconnect perhaps your heart and mind – in other words your intellect and your feelings – and to remove some of the clutter which we all carry around in our psyches from previous lives and from the experiences we have in the here and now. This can sometimes be quite reluctant to vacate the premises.
It is possible to scan the body and the soul for memories, influences and the presence of an enormous variety of energies which have no place in the person they have attached themselves to. We can help to remove energies and entities that shouldn’t be there and about which the individual sometimes has no knowledge or awareness. What is so interesting and valuable for the client is the change in your sense of wellbeing and your energy levels once the process has been carried out.
The way this works varies infinitely – everyone’s experiences, needs and perceptions are different which is why the sessions need to be very flexible – but the effects can be felt afterwards in a wide variety of ways. Sometimes it is subtle and profound, sometimes it is immediate and very apparent.
When I have been on the receiving end of this process myself, I have quite often quickly forgotten I’ve had a session until I notice that whatever was bothering me is no longer there. It’s like suddenly realising a large ship has slipped its mooring in the night and left the harbour. You didn’t notice the point exactly when it left but there’s no mistaking the fact it’s not there anymore!
You don’t need any special skills or knowledge yourself to receive healing. Anyone and everyone can experience it safely and happily. It’s wonderful time out from daily life and what we will talk about might surprise you with the impact it has on you in different ways.
